Simple Edit · Waveform editor for Mac
Open a sample, trim it, fix the level, add a fade and export. Simple Edit is a native Mac editor for the small jobs that do not need a DAW.
One-time purchase · No subscription
Requires macOS 14+ · Apple Silicon & Intel
01 / Edit
Drag to select, pull the edges to adjust, or type exact start and end times. Cut, copy, paste, trim and delete all have undo.
Scroll to pan and pinch to zoom around the pointer, down to individual samples. An overview bar shows where you are in the file.
Play from the playhead or loop the selection. Playback starts from memory with no render step, and you can click to seek while it plays.
Drop markers at the playhead and jump between them. They follow your edits when you cut, trim or paste.
02 / Process
Each one applies to the selection, or to the whole file when nothing is selected.
Normalize to −1 dBFS or apply an exact gain in dB.
Fade in or fade out across the selection.
Silence, reverse, invert polarity and remove DC offset.
03 / Export
Open WAV, AIFF, CAF, MP3 or M4A by dragging it onto the window. Export the whole file or just the selection as 16-bit, 24-bit or 32-bit float at the source sample rate.
Nothing is written until you export, and a failed export leaves the existing file in place.
Pick the accent color in Settings. The app follows the Mac light and dark appearance.
