DMC60 1.0.25: Choose Your Resolution
DMC60 1.0.25 is out for Mac and Windows. This release answers the question we hear most: does everything have to sound lo-fi? Now it is your call, per sample and per kit.
**Sample Fidelity** Under Settings, Playback & Sampling, you pick what new imports and recordings are stored at. Vintage is 12-bit at 26.04 kHz, the DMC60 sound. Hi-Fi is 24-bit at 48 kHz. Studio is 32-bit float at 96 kHz. Every sample remembers its own resolution, so old and new material mix freely in one kit.
**Playback Engine** A single switch runs the whole kit crunchy or clean. Vintage sends every hi-res sample through the 12-bit, 26.04 kHz engine with a per-voice SSM2044 reconstruction stage. Hi-Fi plays everything at native resolution. It switches live, so you can A/B the same kit both ways while it plays. Kits you already built sound exactly as before in either mode.
**Sample-accurate at every rate** We audited the sequencer at 48, 88.2, 96, and 192 kHz. Notes that fell just before a buffer boundary used to land a buffer late, the count-in downbeat could drift by up to a buffer, metronome clicks and note repeat were quantized to the buffer, and host sync snapped to whole ticks. All of it is now sample-accurate at every rate and buffer size, so a 96 kHz bounce sounds like what you heard at 48.
**Everything else in the box** If you are new to DMC60: a folder of samples becomes a playable kit in one go, you can chop breaks, sample straight from your audio interface, and sequence with hardware swing across 99 patterns. There is a drum synth with 21 analog-modeled 808 and 909 style voices, a chromatic keygroup synth for basses, leads, pads, and keys, Akai MPC program import, Ableton Link sync in standalone, and 5 GB of cloud sync for projects and kits.
