Classic, Dark, or System
DMC60 ships with its classic silver workspace, and can switch to a charcoal Dark chassis or follow your operating system automatically. The graphite controls and illuminated displays stay the same either way.
Themes
Choose a theme from Settings → Preferences → Appearance → Theme. The change applies instantly across every panel. No relaunch.
The silver/sage workspace with graphite controls and displays. The default, and unchanged from earlier builds.
A charcoal/sage chassis with soft silver labels. Only the chassis changes: controls, LCDs, meters, pads and transport lights are shared with Classic.
Uses Dark when your Mac or Windows PC is in dark mode and Classic otherwise, and follows the OS setting live.
On platforms without OS appearance support, System resolves to Classic.
Live Switching
Switching updates every open DMC60 window in the same plugin process at once, including editors and dialogs, and is safe while a pattern is playing. The theme is an app preference, separate from projects and presets, so changing it never alters your saved work.
Plugin instances running in separate host processes pick up the saved theme the next time their window opens.
LCD Display Color
The LCD accent is a separate, independent preference from the theme. Run Classic with an amber LCD, or Dark with a green one. Any combination works. The LCD itself always stays a dark, illuminated hardware display.
Set it under Display color, just below the Theme selector. The knob and slider accent color is independent too.
Contrast & Identity
Both themes are checked for readability: labels on the chassis meet at least 4.5:1 contrast (WCAG AA), and status text keeps its hue while adjusting brightness: deepened on silver, illuminated on charcoal.
Meaningful colors are preserved across both themes: LED hues, meters, EQ band colors, waveform markers, per-pad identity, bus tints, and per-pattern palettes. Only the chassis surfaces and their labels change, so your project keeps its color coding in either theme.
